The short version

Pocket Puja is a devotional app: daily wallpapers, shlokas, chants and reminders. Using it means agreeing to these terms. Most of the app needs a subscription, and the one thing worth reading closely is what the subscription costs and when — because you pay ₹1 today but approve a ₹249 limit in your UPI app, and your UPI app can only show you that limit, never the schedule behind it.

You can cancel at any time, from Settings → Manage Subscription in the app or by removing the autopay permission in your UPI app. Cancelling stops every future charge.

Who can use the app

You need a mobile number to create an account. To subscribe you must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract, and the UPI account you authorise must be your own or one you are permitted to use. The app itself is not directed at children under 13.

Your account is personal. Your subscription covers your own use of the app; please do not share your account or resell access to it.

Your account

Your mobile number identifies your account — it is how your language, the deities you follow, your favourites and your subscription come back to you when you reinstall the app or change phones. Keep access to that number secure; anyone who can receive its messages can reach your account. What we store against it, and why, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Pocket Puja and Bhakti Center are separate apps with separate accounts. A subscription bought in one does not unlock the other.

What the subscription costs, and when

Subscribing registers a UPI Autopay mandate: a standing permission for us to collect payments from your UPI account on the schedule below, without you approving each one. The mandate is created and held by our payment provider, Razorpay, not by us.

So if you do not cancel, your first nine days cost ₹1 + (7 × ₹249) = ₹1,744, and it is ₹249 a week after that. All prices are in Indian rupees and include any taxes that apply.

The ₹249 limit you approve is not what you pay today. A UPI mandate has to be authorised for the largest single payment it will ever take, which here is ₹249. That is the figure your UPI app shows you on the approval screen. Today’s charge is still ₹1.

You will get a message before each payment. UPI Autopay sends its own pre-debit notification roughly a day before every charge. That message comes from your bank or UPI app, not from us — it is a normal part of autopay, not a sign of anything wrong.

If a payment fails. If a charge cannot be collected — insufficient balance, a revoked mandate, a bank outage — access pauses until a payment succeeds. We may retry a failed charge. We never collect more than the ₹249 limit you approved in any single payment.

Price changes. If we change the price, we will tell you in the app before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it does. A change never applies to a payment already taken. A higher price also needs a new mandate, which only you can approve in your UPI app.

Promo codes and free access

A promo code grants a fixed number of days of access — no payment, no mandate, and nothing to cancel. Codes are single-use per account, may be withdrawn or expire, and have no cash value. Access simply ends when the granted days run out, and you can subscribe then if you want to continue.

Cancelling

Cancel at any time from Settings → Manage Subscription in the app, or by removing the autopay permission for Pocket Puja in your UPI app. Either one stops all future charges.

Your access continues until the period you have paid for ends — cancelling does not cut you off mid-period. After that, the app returns to its subscription screen and nothing further is charged.

To cancel directly in your UPI app:

• Google Pay — tap your profile picture (top right) → Autopay → pick this subscription → Cancel autopay.
• PhonePe — tap your profile icon (top left) → Autopay → pick this subscription → Cancel Autopay.
• Paytm— tap your profile icon → UPI & Payment Settings → Automatic Payments → pick this subscription → Cancel.
• Any other UPI app — look for Autopay, Mandates or Automatic Payments under your profile or settings.

Menu names differ slightly between app versions. Revoking autopay stops future payments; it does not refund a payment already taken.

Refunds

Payments are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time to stop every future charge, and your access runs to the end of the period you have already paid for — but we do not refund a payment once it has been taken.

That is separate from money taken that was never owed. If you were charged in error — a duplicate payment, a charge after you cancelled, or a charge you did not authorise — write to us at harshdbugger@gmail.com and we will investigate and put it right. Nothing here affects any right you have under Indian consumer law.

The content in the app

Wallpapers, shlokas, translations, chants and other material in the app are licensed to you for your own personal, devotional use while your access is active. You may set a wallpaper on your device and save a chant as your ringtone or alarm tone. Please do not redistribute, resell, or publish the content as your own, or strip it out of the app in bulk.

Religious texts and their translations are presented with care, but traditions and readings differ. The app is devotional content, not religious, medical, legal or financial advice.

Using the app fairly

Please do not try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the app or our backend, get around the subscription, use another person’s number or UPI account, or automate access to our content. We may suspend or end access to an account that does these things, or that is used to abuse promo codes or payments.

Availability

We add content regularly and improve the app over time, so features may change. We try to keep the app available but cannot promise it will never be interrupted — content delivery, notifications and payments depend on services we do not control. If we ever discontinue the app, we will stop taking payments and tell you in advance.

Our responsibility

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top, and announce significant changes in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, you can cancel.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
